Very compact and easy to use.
I've owned a small magnetic chess set (made in Germany) for close to 60 years. It's very high quality and small enough to slip into a jacket pocket. Unfortunately, the pieces are a bit too tall, so that the board cannot be folded without moving all the pieces to one side of the board. This is obviously a problem if you wish to save a position for later.
This set solves that problem. The set is not of the quality of my German set and won't last for 60 years...but neither will I. It's of the same width and length when folded as the German set, but considerably thinner. It's the pinnacle of portability. The pieces are quite flat and may be a bit more difficult to move. And I did the drop test. I dropped the board when folded on a hard floor, and none of the pieces moved. So, if you're looking for a set that you can take anywhere and save your positions without worrying about the pieces shifting around, this set should suit you, and the price is hard to beat.
