Staunton chess pieces have been the standard for tournament chess since 1849. These attractive pieces, hand crafted in Poland from hornbeam wood, are packaged in a beautiful wooden box. Each chessman is weighted with metal.

This is a beautiful Chess Set. It is made in Poland or Eastern Europa. This is a set that the locals play with everyday and in the evenings. It's very rustic and has a simple charm. All the Chess units were handmade on a wood lathe. Worth every penny, and on the box it was stated that NO Child Labor was used in the production of the set, which makes even more valuable to me.
