This mahjong set is styled to have the look and feel of a traditional American Bakelite set. Buttery tiles sit atop comfortably beautiful wooden racks, and a wooden rosewood veneer case with felt lining gives this set an understated elegance.

This set has 166 tiles, including all the 144 tiles for classical Chinese play as well as an extra 22 tiles for the American version of the game. With this set you can comfortably play either version. To play the Chinese version simply use the red dragons as the 'hong zhong' and the green dragons as the 'fa' tiles.

  • 166 Tiles Include: 36 Dots, 36 Bams, 36 Craks, 12 Dragons, 16 Winds, 16 Flowers, 10 Jokers, and 4 Blank Spares
  • Tiles are engraved with Chinese characters along with numbers and Arabic numerals and are made out of heavy, scratch resistant melamine and measure 1-3/16'' H x 7/8'' W x 1/2'' Thick (30mm x 23mm x 13mm)
  • The case measures 22-7/8''L x 9-1/2''W x 2-3/4''H (58cm x 24cm x 7cm)
  • 4 wooden racks, scoring coins, 3 dice and a wind indicator
  • Proper illustrated English instruction manual

My husband's birthday gift arrived very quickly today. HE LOVES IT! He also loved being able to track it and knew exactly when he'd receive his birthday gift. Everything about the carrying case, tiles and racks are beautifully made. The tiles engravement are very neat and don't look like they will "erase". We look forward to evenings of Mahjong! One more comment. The enclosed booklet is informative but does not correctly explain the rules to American Mah Jongg (the game is not played with Chows).

It is an absolutely beautiful set. It is more than I expected. I had bought one in China last February that does not compare to your set. Yours is the best. I was very surprised to see the set come in today's mail. I only ordered it 6 workdays ago. I am recommending YM imports to all my MahJong friends.

Beautiful Mah Jongg set. The case is lovely and the tiles are a nice size. It was shipped immediately, however the case was damaged somewhat during shipment. (UPS responsibility) The folks at Yellow Mountain replaced the case with no problem. However, it took several weeks for the replacement to arrive. Highly recommend!
