Beechwood Veneer 0.4" Go Game Table Board Goban
Brand: Yellow Mountain Imports
The perfect board to teach go. The 9x9 grid is popular for fast and instructive games. The size is less intimidating than larger boards and makes go instantly fun for those just introduced to the game.

- Board is Chinese standard size (23mm x 25mm grids) and measures 9.8" x 9.3" x 0.4" (250mm x 235mm x 10mm). Playing field is 9x9.
My experience with YMI has been a poor one. My first order for a full size Go board, Stones, and Bowls resulted in the delivery of just the board but the delivery was marked “complete”. I had to send a complaint to get the remainder of my order delivered separately. The full size board was perfectly engraved on one side and poorly engraved on the full board side. Typically hand made items are of better quality, not uneven quality. I had forgotten to order a small training board initially, so I placed a second order. That product was never delivered due to an issue with the address. It has been returned to Amazon. I expect to receive a full refund of the price, tax, and shipping costs. Overall, I am very disappointed with the quality of the product and the quality of the service. I hope you will make improvements in all aspects of the ordering, service, and fulfillment processes.
The 9x9 board is nice because it is sturdy wood, has etched lines, and a felt bottom to stay secure on the table and not scratch it. The only problem is that the surface is shiny. A go board should have a non-shiny surface. You don't want to see the light reflections on the board because it distracts from the game. Even so, this is a nice board. It's very good for teaching beginners.
This board was amazing! I am currently using it in my go club to instruct new players in the game. High quality and great felt underside.
This is a lightweight and attractive 9x9 board, the best commercially available board we have found for teaching beginners, and for grade school clubs. Seattle Go Center.
