Made from renewable plantation wood.
- King: 3.35" (8.5cm). Queen: 2.56" (6.5cm). Pawn: 1.46" (3.7cm).
- Board measures 16"W x 16"H x 1"D (40.7cm x 40.7cm x 2.5cm). Squares measures 2" x 2" (5cm x 5cm).
- Board is made from beech and birch. Felt bottom chessmen are made from hornbeam and sycamore. Chessmen are weighted.
- Handcrafted in Poland.

This was a perfect first chess set for my grandson. I especially like how the spaces are marked and it is sturdy and attractive.

Liked this size of chess set ( 16 by 16 ) so much, i got one for my husband and got two more for my sons. It looks great left on the table or can be folded up and put away until ready to use again. We leave it out all the time because we play a lot, and because when company comes we hope it makes us look intelligent.

Just what I was looking for
This was a birthday gift for my boyfriend and we have played almost every day since he opened it. I was looking for something compact, wood with a classic but decorative look, and not outrageously priced. It reminds me of the one I learned to play on as a child :) The felt covered plastic liner sounds cheap, but it is sufficient to store the pieces without them rolling around and without adding extra weight to the set. The pieces are a little smaller than I expected (maybe because it is the junior size?) But they are hand carved and decorated as is the board. The boyfriend loves it and we fully enjoy it.
