Beautiful mahjong set for my boyfriend and am so excited to give it to him for his birthday. My only problem is that the vinyl case came broken at one of the corners upon arrival.
Gave this gift to our son for Christmas. He loved it. The whole family played 7 games that evening. New family favorite. New tradition for the holiday gatherings. Highly recommend. Great quality. Only recommendation would be a small colored cheat sheet of the tiles for new players.
Got this set on sale and I was happy to get it early in the predicted delivery window despite being in the holiday season. The tiles feel good to handle and the engravings are well rendered. I'm happy with my purchase.
One star off for the following:
1. Soft Case joints feel flimsy and I can see them wearing out sooner than I'd like with regular use.
2. Loose black ink on some tiles when fresh out of the box. I caught a couple smudges after my first game with the set which could be rubbed off with my thumb, but if I hadn't caught them I fear they would have set like that and required harsher cleaning.
3. A chipped engraving on one of the 1-pin tiles in attached photo. Not game critical, but quality is about consistency. Chip seems to have occurred before inking.
This set is very well made!! The tiles are sturdy yet nice to the touch. They’re very easy to play with! I highly recommend it for anyone seeking their own set of tiles :)
