Very happy with the purchase. It is well made, and easy to use. Before buying it, I shopped around on the Web, and found that this model was recommended as a good working abacus. Since receiving it, I’ve gotten very curious about abacuses, and spent a fair amount of time looking at what is available. This confirmed the initial recommendations--that this is as good a working abacus as is readily available, quite possibly the best abacus you can get. (Super-deluxe abacuses seem to be quite remarkably rare.)
The location of the place markers between rows instead of over the rods seems to be a recent improvement in abacus design.
... Instrument and I'm learning how to play it. Actually I'm learning how to add and subtract with it. Learning is good. Yellow Mountain was excellent to deal with. My abacus was quick to arrive, in perfect condition, and it is a thing of beauty. Thank you!
Looks and feels cool to use
Ordere 2 abacus. 1 was finished, 1 was not. The beads on one were covered with polishing rogue. If was not finished, and how this was approved for shipping is not imaginable. They would not replace it or suggest to ship it back for a refund.
Looks, works and feels like it was advertised. Beautiful instrument.
Only concern is I wished I didn't have to bend so long when using it.
